How can we help? 👋

Check classwork results

Use Student Work to check assignment results and inspect the answers behind each score.

Choose the class and work

  1. Select Data in the left navigation.
  1. Select Student Work.
  1. Choose a class from the class menu.

Use All units to filter the table by unit. Use All work to show assignments, assessments, or both.

Student Work shows assignment columns, student rows, and a key for scores and completion status.

Each row represents a student. Each work column represents an assignment or assessment. Select a column’s title to open that assignment.

Read scores and completion status

A completed assignment shows a percentage. The score is the share of questions the student answered correctly on the first attempt.

For example, three first-attempt correct answers out of four questions give a score of 75%. A correct retry does not change that first-attempt score.

Use the key above the table:

  • Green: 90–100%.
  • Yellow: 80–89%.
  • Orange: 70–79%.
  • Red: below 70%.
  • An ellipsis: “In progress.”
  • A dash: “Not started.”

“In progress” means the student has started but has not completed the work. It does not mean the student is working right now.

Class average shows the average score among students who completed that assignment. A student’s Average uses their completed assignments in the displayed results. Unfinished work does not count as a zero in these averages.

If a row or column has no completed work, its average shows a dash.

Inspect a student’s work

  1. Find the student’s row.
  1. Select a score or an in-progress cell.
  1. Read the panel on the right.
Amara’s panel shows a completed assignment, its score, timestamps, and saved responses.
Amara’s panel shows a completed assignment, its score, timestamps, and saved responses.

The panel shows the student’s score, the class average, and completion status. It also shows when the student started and submitted the work.

Total time is the elapsed time from the assignment’s start to completion. It can include breaks. The Activity page uses a separate estimate of active work time.

Under Questions & responses, each card shows the question and the student’s first answer. The card identifies that attempt as correct or incorrect.

If a student tried again, select Show other attempts to inspect the later answers. The number in parentheses tells you how many additional attempts are available.

Use the arrows at the top of the panel to move between students for the same assignment. Select Close to return to the full table.

Open the full answer view

Select Open full assignment at the bottom of the panel.

The full answer view shows an incorrect first attempt and the accepted ratio answer.
The full answer view shows an incorrect first attempt and the accepted ratio answer.

Choose a question from the question list. If it has several attempts, use the attempt menu to select the answer you want to inspect.

The full view shows the saved answer with the question’s original layout. This is useful when a diagram or question format is difficult to read in the side panel.

Change the table display

Open the gear button, Edit settings.

Use Show key to show or hide the score key. Use Show units to show or hide unit headings above the work columns.
