How can we help? 👋

Check student activity

Read weekly activity totals and inspect students’ recent work in the Activity log.

Use Activity to see when students work and which questions they answer.

Choose a class and week

  1. Select Data in the left navigation.
  1. Select Activity.
  1. Select Weekly activity.
  1. Choose a class from the class menu.

Use the arrows beside the date range to move between weeks. Select Today to return to the current week.

The table shows Monday through Friday. The This week column includes the full week, including Saturday and Sunday. Weekend work can make the weekly total larger than the five visible day totals.

The Activity table shows daily question counts, time estimates, and full-week totals.

Filter the work type

Open All classwork to choose a type of work:

  • Assignments.
  • Diagnostics.
  • Review.
  • Assessments.

Choose All classwork to include all four types. The question counts, time estimates, and detail panel follow this filter.

Read question counts and time

A cell such as “4 Qs · 9m” means the student answered four questions and recorded about nine minutes of active work.

Questions count once per day, including retries and variations of the same question. Attempts count each submitted answer. A student can therefore have more attempts than questions.

Weekly question counts add the daily counts. A question answered on two different days contributes to both days.

A dash means the student has no recorded answers for that day and filter. Class average includes students with recorded activity during the day or week being averaged.

Time is an estimate from answer timestamps. Podsie adds the gaps between answers when each gap is ten minutes or less. Longer gaps are excluded. A single answer can show zero minutes because there is no earlier answer to measure from.

Hover over a student’s cell to see more detail, including attempts and accuracy.

Inspect a day or week

  1. Select a student’s day cell to inspect that day.
  1. Read the work summary in the panel on the right.
  1. Expand a work group to inspect its questions.

To inspect the whole week instead, select the student’s This week cell.

Amara’s daily panel contains assignment work and personal review from the same day.

The panel shows question counts and time for the selected period. Work groups separate assignments, diagnostics, and review.

Question cards show the first answer and whether it was correct. Select Show other attempts when the student submitted more answers. Use the eye button to open the saved work in its full question layout.

Weekly totals add daily question counts, while a detail panel counts distinct questions within the selected period. If a student repeats questions across days, these counts can differ.

Show accuracy and last activity

Open the gear button, Edit settings.

Activity settings offer optional accuracy and last-active columns.

Turn on Show accuracy to display accuracy with the question counts. Daily accuracy uses the first answer to each question that day. Weekly accuracy combines those daily first attempts.

Turn on Show last active to see each student’s most recent answer time within the selected week and work filter. This shows recorded answer activity, rather than whether the student is currently online.

Check recent work in Activity log

Select the Activity log tab to see recent work for the selected class.

Use By student to see one row per student. Use All activity to see separate work entries for each student.

Choose a date range and work type to narrow the list. Use the student filter to focus on one student.

In progress shows unfinished work. The question or step identifies the student's recorded position. Complete shows finished work.

Active now means Podsie recorded activity within the last five minutes. An open browser alone does not establish that a student is working.

Inspect work from the log

  1. Read the progress and timing details in the side panel.
  1. Inspect the questions and saved answers.
