Review question results – Podsie

Use Questions to find difficult questions and inspect how students’ answers change over time.

Choose a class and unit

Select Data in the left navigation.

Select Questions.

Choose a class from the class menu.

Use All units to narrow the list to selected units. Each row shows a question with its assignment title.

Select the eye button, Preview, to see the full question.

The question table shows first-attempt accuracy, overall accuracy, answer counts, and review status.

Compare the accuracy measures

The two accuracy columns answer different questions.

1st attempt accuracy is the percentage of students whose first graded answer to that question was correct. Students who have not answered it are excluded.

Overall accuracy is the percentage of all graded attempts that were correct. It includes retries and later review answers.

Correct / attempts shows the counts behind overall accuracy. For example, 42 correct answers out of 57 attempts gives 74% after rounding.

For assignment questions, these measures include the class’s answers across assignments, assessments, and review. They also include variations of the same question. The assignment title identifies where the question appears.

A low first-attempt percentage can help you find a question to reteach. Compare it with recent student attempts to see whether students now answer it correctly.

Sort the list

Select an accuracy column heading to sort from highest to lowest. Select it again to put the lowest results first. A third selection returns to course order.

Select Correct / attempts to sort by the number of attempts.

Use the menu at the bottom to show 25, 50, or 100 questions per page. Page buttons appear when the results need more than one page.

Compare students’ attempts

Select an assignment question’s row to expand its student results.

The expanded question shows each student’s first and recent attempt, plus accuracy across all attempts.

The expanded table shows:

First attempt: the result and date of the student’s earliest graded answer.

Recent attempt: the result and date of the latest graded answer.

Correct / attempts: correct answers out of all graded attempts.

Accuracy: the percentage of those attempts that were correct.

Only students with graded answers appear in this expanded table. Diagnostic question rows currently do not offer this student detail view.

Inspect saved answers

Select a student’s row to open their answer panel.

Chloe’s panel shows an incorrect first attempt, a correct recent attempt, and four correct answers out of five attempts.

The panel compares the student’s accuracy with the class’s overall accuracy. Under Answer attempts, you can read the first answer and use Show other attempts to inspect later answers.

Select View work to open the full question layout. Use the attempt menu to move between saved answers.

The saved answer view preserves the ratio diagram and the student’s incorrect first response.

Change review status

Use In review to turn a question’s review status on or off for the selected class.

A disabled switch means review is turned off for that question in every class. Hover over it to read the explanation. Questions without this review control have a blank cell.
