Class Leaderboards

Understand how the leaderboard works and how to configure options.

Students earn experience through consistently studying their personal deck (see Experience (XP) for Teachers). The Leaderboard helps you gauge whether students in your class are consistently engaging with review material in Podsie. Experience aims to measure consistent effort rather than how well students know material.

By default, students also see their own XP level and a leaderboard with their class’ top five performers.

Edit Leaderboard Visibility for Students

You may edit leaderboard visibility for your course in General Settings. There are three settings

  • Show Top 5 Students - Students see their own XP level and the performance of the five highest XP students in the class.
  • Show All Students- Students see the XP level of all students in the class.
  • Leaderboard Off - Students see their own levels of XP, but do not see any information about their peers.
💡
Important Note: Experience is distinguished from the points mechanism in Personal Deck Assignments! However, students completing personal deck assignments will also gain experience.
