Experience (XP) for Students
How can students earn (or lose) XP?
You can gain or lose Experience (XP) based on your work with your Personal Deck. XP is based on consistent effort, not by always being right! It’s normal to forget, but your memory will improve through consistent study over time!
As such, the following actions currently earn or lose XP:
- Correct study of a Personal Deck Question (+1 XP)
- There is no bonus for remembering a flashcard on your first attempt during a review session compared to your tenth! So, please focus on studying and mastering the concepts.
- End of Day Bonus/Decay (+10 XP / -5 XP). At the end of each day:
- You will gain +10 XP if you either:
- Have no Personal Deck Questions due (you’ve cleared out all your due questions).
- OR: studied AT LEAST 1 Personal Deck Question
- You will lose 5 XP if you:
- Have Personal Deck Questions due AND you didn’t study any Personal Deck Questions that day.
- You will not lose points during the days that your teacher has frozen your personal decks!
- You can earn even MORE bonus points if you keep up a STREAK of consistent study. Specifically, you will gain additional bonus points if you have a STREAK of multiple days where you either:
- Have no Personal Deck Questions due at the end of the day
- OR: finished at least 1 Personal Deck Study Session (NOTE: this is a full study session, not just 1 question!)
- The longer your streak, the more additional bonus points you’ll earn!
- If you break your streak, then you will not earn additional bonus points.
