Subject Group Admins
What does it mean to be a Subject Group admin?
Subject Group Admins can do the following for the Subject:
- Create, edit, and delete Categories and Standards.
- Edit a question’s tagged standard.
- Promote other members to Admins.
What’s the purpose of Admins?
As teachers collaborate in a Subject Group, sometimes more veteran Podsie teachers want to be able to collaborate with newer teachers while ensuring that the existing Categories and Standards don’t get mistakenly updated.
When should I promote other teachers to Admins?
In general, we recommend promoting other teachers to Admins when:
- You’d like the other teachers to help you create and update Categories and Standards for the Subject.
- The other teachers understand how Categories, Standards, and tagging questions with Standards work
Why are non-admins allowed to tag questions that are missing standards?
Non-admins are permitted to tag questions because when a new teacher joins a Subject Group, all of this teacher’s existing questions are brought into the Subject Group without a tagged Standard. We decided to let non-admin teachers tag these non-tagged questions to lighten the responsibilities of Subject Group Admins. Please note that once the question has been tagged with a standard, only Admins can go back to change the standard for that question to something different.
