Assignments ‘Grades’ View
Understanding how to read the question attempts columns
The Assignment’s “Grades” View may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but it’s fairly straightforward once you understand each column. Here’s a breakdown of the columns:
- The Questions Completed column will show a timestamp of when a student completes an assignment. An assignment is considered “finished” when the student has answered every question at least once.
- For the “Correct / Total”, a question is counted “correct” if the student answers it correctly on their very first attempt.
- The columns on the right (Q1, Q2, Q3) represent each question on the assignment. The numbers in these columns represent the number of attempts that each student has had on that question.
- Note: if a student still has not answered the question correctly, the number will be surrounded by brackets (e.g. [2]). For example, in the following screenshot, the student on the fifth row has got question #3 correct on the first attempt. However, this student missed question 1 and 2, and the student still has yet to answer these questions correctly, which is why they have not finished the assignment yet.
